On Monday, January 6th, the US Army Corps of Engineers released the Portland Metro Levee System Draft Integrated Feasibility Report & Environmental Assessment for public review and comment. Their report includes information about the analysis they have conducted to date, the vulnerabilities that have been identified within the levee system, the potential solutions that have been considered, the final array of alternatives that were modeled, and the alternative that has tentatively been selected as their preferred plan. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD The Corps’ public review period will run from January 6th until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020. Please hold this time for scoping of the Levee Ready Certification Project Scoping Meeting. We will be discussing project #6, which is the location of the animal burrows on the Columbia mainstem levee in eastern MCDD.
We look forward to seeing you in the new year at the IGA Board meeting! Please note that as for now, there is not a call-in option for this meeting.As discussed at the December 18 board meeting, starting in February, all IGA Board meetings will be taking place the 3rd Wednesday of every month. I’ve attached a brief calendar overview of the 2020 meeting schedule.
